Measures positive and negative affect using 10 adjectives rated on a 5-point scale. Widely used in EMA studies to assess momentary mood.
Scoring
Positive Affect subscale: sum items 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 (Alert, Inspired, Determined, Attentive, Active). Negative Affect subscale: sum items 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 (Upset, Hostile, Ashamed, Nervous, Afraid). Higher scores = more of each affect.
